Chattanooga Cruise In September 2012
Last September, we tried our hand at hosting our own Cruise In right here in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We considered it a great success, and decided to do it again in 2012. Our April event nearly doubled in size with 500 cars in attendance. For the September 2012 Cruise In, we seriously upped the game, and worked hard to spread the word about our event. Well, it worked! We had more than 700 cars here, along with a couple thousand spectators…without question, it was overwhelming, but we had a blast and plan to do even more events in 2013! DeWayne Guffey came down from Dayton, TN in his awesome Model A pickup. We love the traditional style!
It was a pleasure to have Will Davenport at the Cruise In! He is a valued Honest Charley customer and built this Flathead-powered Deuce roadster using our parts!
On the left is Mark Dempsey’s super slick ’56 Chevy, which has a big block and a six-speed. On the right is his wife, Wanda’s ’69 Camaro. They made the drive from Whitwell, TN with a bunch of friends.
All the way from Hayesville, NC, the boys from Cutworm Specialties displayed a couple of their hand-built creations. This one got LOTS of attention!!!
Clay Johnson, of Clayton Machine Works drove his low down Oldsmobile to the Cruise In.
The Greazy Hubcapz car club made a great showing! Lots of traditional hot rods, mostly from the Maryville, TN area.

Local hot rodder, Tom and Shannon Medley hang out with their machines. Shannon’s ’55 runs 6.20’s in the eighth and was recently featured in Car Craft magazine!

Yes ma’am, our Cruise In dates for 2013 are April 6th and September 7th. Also, the Hot Rod Power Tour is coming through Chattanooga, so we’ll have a HUGE after party at Honest Charley on Thursday June 6th.
