We have a thing for hot rods, and historic drag strips are a huge part of the hot rodding community. Drag strips played a big part in promoting the hobby back in the day, and the ones that are still around do a great job of keeping the vintage spirit alive. We thoroughly enjoy visiting Paradise Drag Strip, especially when they’re having a nostalgia drag meet.
Our good buddy and longtime hot rodder, B.B. Brown puts on the event in combination with the Paradise Drag Strip crew, and they do it at least twice a year…sometimes more! Back in October, we attended the Fall Paradise Show and Go event, and had a great time.
The weather was perfect, and there was a huge turnout of show cars, racecars and swap meet vendors. You wouldn’t believe the crowd of spectators that lined the fences to watch the drag racing action, and it was certainly worth watching. Vintage drag cars and modern street machines made their way down the historic eighth mile drag strip in exciting fashion. Check out what we saw, and make sure to check out Paradise Drag Strip in Calhoun, Georgia in 2012!
